The Swiss mezzo-soprano, Anouk Molendijk, is part of the new generation of artists inclined to question her practice and traditions in order to open up to new forms of expression. Passionate about poetry and contemporary theater, in 2012 she obtained a Master's degree in Modern French and Comparative Literature in Geneva. Her latest academic work focuses on the performativity of speech in Olivier Py. She obtained a Master's degree in vocal interpretation in 2017 in Lausanne and has continued to participate in shows as a performer and also to initiate her own projects, particularly in the field of contemporary music and experimental improvisation.
Anouk Molendijk performs with the Ensemble Contrechamps Die Gespenstersonate by Reimann, Lonely Child and Wo bist du, Licht? by Vivier and gives in concert Auf die ruhige Nacht-Zeit for the 90th birthday of Klaus Huber, Les 7 crimes de l’amour by Aperghis, Pierrot lunaire by Arnold Schoenberg as well as creations of new works. Among her latest projects are the title role of La Belle Hélène by Offenbach in Sion (August-September 2018), Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia by Benjamin Britten, une compagne de l’Infante in Der Zwerg by Zemlinsky at the Opéra de Lille, Rennes and Caen, the Alto-Rhapsody by Johannes Brahms with the OCG, Mrs Grose in Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten at the Theater Freiburg, Germany (July 2021) and the creation of Erzulie by John Menoud with the Ensemble Contrechamps. Soon, she will perform the solo alto in the Magnificat in D major BWV 243 by J.S. Bach / Messe in Ab D678 by Schubert, again the Alto-Rhapsody by J. Brahms with the OCG, die Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart in Sion (August-September 2022) and Une Dame by Cully in Davel by Christian Favre at the Opéra de Lausanne (January-February 2023). |
