The English mezzo-soprano and choral conductor, Gabriella Giuletta Noble, is currently studying at Guildhall school of music and drama under Samantha Malk. Her interest are eclectic, but early music and contemporary music, for which she was awarded the Tracey Chadwell Memorial prize at Guildhall, remain key passions. She was recently the recipient of a Young Artist’s Scholarship from Fundaciòn Salvat (2023), which saw her performing J.S. Bach's Cantatas in venues and festivals across Europe, including under the baton of Masaaki Suzuki.
Gabriella Noble was awarded the Rodney Gibson prize for Early Music by the Association of English Singers and Speakers in 2023. Before embarking on a varied freelance career in singing and conducting she graduated with a First Class degree in Music from Oxford University, where she performed lead roles with New Chamber Opera and the experimental collective Leoe&hyde. She is a 2024 Alvarez Young Artist at Garsington Opera and will be studying on the Guildhall’s Opera Course from autumn 2024.
Following a career as an ensemble singer and conductor, which included a permanent post with the Flemish Radio Choir and a conducting post at London’s St Martin-In-The-Fields, she decided to pursue a career as a soloist. Concert highlights include performing Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 at the Beijing Music Festival and oratorio appearances with The London Mozart Players (J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232) and Brandenburg Sinfonia. She was grateful to develop her craft as a recitalist on the Wigmore French Song Exchange, which culminated with appearances at Salle Cortot in Paris and at the Wigmore Hall in 2024. In the summer of 2025, she made her role debut as Cherubino with the Cumbria Opera Festival. She returns to the role in Oxford Opera’s autumn production of W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro in October 2026.
As a coral conductor, Gabriella Noble is working regularly with the National Youth Choir and has held posts with choirs at St Peters, London Docks and at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. In June 2026, she was appointed by the the next postholder of the Sir Alexander Gibson Memorial Fellowship as the next postholder of the Sir Alexander Gibson Memorial Fellowship. She is passionate about interdisciplinary arts, and her singing is influenced by her love of poetry, visual art, and theatre. |
