The German soprano, Andrea Nübel-Hovekamp, completed her vocal studies at the Musikhochschule Freiburg under Mareike Morr and Dorothea Wirtz. Her artistic training was further enriched by master-classes with Kai Wessel, Carolyn Sampson, Ton Koopman, Anne Le Bozec, Juliane Banse, and Pauliina Tukiainen. She is currently receiving new inspiration from Sophie Harmsen.
As a soloist, Andrea Nübel has already collaborated with renowned conductors such as Hannes Reich, Winfried Toll, Ton Koopman, and Frank Markowitsch. Her voice has been described in the press as "radiant," "warm-toned," and "expressive," with a "natural soprano quality." She impresses with a diverse repertoire ranging from the Renaissance through the Baroque and Romantic periods to contemporary music.
In addition to her solo work, Andrea Nübel is also in demand with top-tier choirs and vocal ensembles. She has sung under the direction of conductors such as René Jacobs, Jérémie Rhorer, Paavo Järvi, and George Petrou. Currently, she works as a freelance singer with, among others, the NDR Vokalensemble (Diretor: Klaas Stok), RIAS-Kammerchor (Director: Justin Doyle), ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), and Chorus Musicus Köln (Director: Christoph Spering).
In addition to her performing career, she shares her expertise as a vocal coach in Aachen, working as a vocal trainer for the Aachener Bachverein and the Collegium Musicum der RWTH Aachen. |
