The Orquestra Barroca D'Aquém Mar (=OBDAM) was founded in 2021 by Elsa Santos Mathei. The starting point of this journey begins with Pássaros de Lagoa, a work that results from a challenge launched to the Lagoa Criative Writing Club - a group of people from Lagoa who are passionate about letters - and culminates in a new commission to the composer Teresa Gentil, a composer with a connection close and regular musical production with the Orquestra Barroca D'Aquém Mar. In parallel, the desire to delve into contemporary musical exploration based on a group of performers and instruments that use copies of originals and the language of such a specific era which perfectly corroborates the founding date of the Municipality of Lagoa. |
