The American choral conductor and bass-baritone, Nathaniel Peets, grew up in Webster, New York, and graduated this spring with a Bachelor's in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia (August 2021-May 2024), where he studied voice with Joe Dan Harper. During this time he was Music Tutor at SUNY Fredonia. September 2024, he studies for his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with Dr. William Weinert.
Nathaniel Peets was recently the Assistant Chorus Master for the Hillman Opera's production of Die Fledermaus. He also participated in NY-ACDA's Conducting Gesture Masterclass last fall. Nathaniel has also recently sung in a number of professional choral ensembles, such as Harmonia (Path of Miracles) and Voices. He currently serves as Choral Scholar at Christ Church Pittsford (since September 2024) and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Eastman School of Music (since August 2024).
This year (2025), Nathaniel Peets looks forward to conducting the Eastman Repertory Singers and directing BWV 69 as a part of Eastman School of Music: Bach Cantata Series. Additionally, he serves as President of the Eastman Student Chapter of the American Choral Director's Association and Personnel Manager of the Eastman-Rochester Chorus. |
