Berlin, where she sang n she sang the role of Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio conducted by Otmar Suitner (In September 1982); Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro conducted by Otmar Suitner (September 1981); Blumen in Parcifal (September 1981); Die Frau ohne Schatten conducted by Ernst Märzendorfer (October 1981); Der Freischütz conducted by Otmar Suitner (January 1982); Einstein conducted by Joachim Freyer (February 1982); R. Wagner's
Tannhäuser (April 1982). In May 1983, she appeared as a shepherdess in R. Wagner's Tannhauser in a tour of Japan with the Berlin Opera Troupe. During the tour she was granted political asylum by the West German embassy in Tokyo. She left Tokyo for Frankfurt, West Germany, following the Japanese Foreign Ministry's confirmation of her defection to the West. In the early 2000's, she taught singing at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. She later taught at the Hochschule für Musik & Theater Hamburg. |
