The German baritone and former tenor, Daniel Pohnert, received piano lessons from 1983 to 2004. From 1984 to 1989 has sang as alto at the Domchor Mainz under the direction of Professor Mathias Breitschaft. From 1998 to 2005 he studied singing at the University for Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt with Professoe Christian Elsner. Since 2008 he takes lessons and master-classes with the vocal coach Neil Semer.
Since 1999 Daniel Pohnert has given concerts and song recitals all over Germany in concert rooms, such as the Studio of Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt or Munich Prinzregententheater. In 2001 he sang Lehrbube in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by R. Wagner at Frankfurt Opera. In June 2002 he sang Borsa in Rigoletto by G. Verdi at the Festival Bad Hersfeld. From December 2003 to December 2004 he sang Der Prinz in Cendrillion by Pauline Viardot at Berlin Konzerthaus. In April 2003 he sang Grecy-Grecy in Le chateau à toto by Offenbach at the International festival for Offenbach in Bad Ems. From July 2004 to July 2009 he was an ensemble member at the Theater of Hildesheim, singing leading tenor roles such as: Belmonte in Entführung aus dem Serail by W.A. Mozart, Alfredo in La Traviata by Verdi, Fenton in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor by Nicolai.
In 2009 Daniel Pohnert changed his singing voice from tenor to baritone. Since August 2010 he sings leading baritone roles at Kammeroper Hamburg such as Dr. Falke in Fledermaus by
J.Strauss. |
