The Dutch tenor, Chris Postuma, grew up with classical music. He sang at a young age as a boy soprano and then as a tenor in Chamber Choir "Kavóca", including his mother Luthine Postuma. With ‘Kavóca’ he made concert and study trips to, among others, Cambridge, Prague, Venice, Dresden and Leipzig. Hae studied at Almere College in Kampen (2012-2014).
At the age of 18 Chris Postuma sang parts of the Evangelist role in J.S. Bach’s Johannes-Passion (BWV 245). Since he was 18, he has also been a guest singer in England in the semi-professional chamber choir The Coventry Singers, under the direction of the BBC conductor Paul Leddington Wright. He attended workshops with Alberto ter Doest and Claron McFadden. At Codarts Cnservatorium Rotterdam, he attended the solo training course with Frans Huijts (September 2014-June 2015). He is now studying for Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Singing with Minor Early Music Voice at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatory) in The Hague with Gerda van Zelm (August 2015-2019), and was allowed to participate in solo and small choir projects under the direction of Mike Fentross, Peter Van Heyghen, Pieter-Jan Belder and Michael Chance. Together with organist and pianist Jurjan Lipke, he is asked to perform in small concert series of songs and church music. He is a member of Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra (Director: Ton Koopman). He currently lives in The Hague, the Netherlands. |
