The German tenor, Hans-Josef Ritzerfeld ("Hajo"), studied after his exams, first in Köln music and theology for the profession of teaching at the High School. At the Kölner Musikhochschule he also began his first singing studies. After his state examination, he continued his studies with Professor Karl Markus (Musikhochschule Frankfurt), who trained him as the lyric tenor. The meeting with Professor Heinz Marten became a crucial for his singing career. Heinz Marten, who had been an outstanding Lieder and oratorio singer in his time, led Hans-Josef Ritzerfeld into concert singing and remained artistic Mentor and paternal friend up to his death.
Hans-Josef Ritzerfeld is today interpreter in demand for big oratorios, in his homeland and abroad, whereby he enjoys a special call as Evangelist in J.S. Bach works. By his expressive-strong, moving text production and interpretation he is able to move deeply his listeners. Lieder singing and the work in ensemble document the versatility and quality of his work.

Hans-Josef Ritzerfeld lives today with his family in the Eifelort Roetgen in the area of Aachen. |
