The German mezzo-soprano, Hildegard Rützel, studied classical voice with Thomas Moser and Sylvia Greenberg at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Munich and attended master-classes with Helmut Deutsch and Céline Dutilly.
The broad spectrum of Hildegard Rützel's repertoire encompasses works by Monteverdi, Georg Philipp Telemann and Haendel, contemporary works such as Miss Donniethorne's Maggot by Peter Maxwell Davies and world premieres of the composers Philipe Schoeller, Mauricio Kagel, Wolfgang Rihm, Birke Bertelsmeier, Annette Schlünz and Dániel Péter Biró. Her numerous performances also include operatic engagements at the Komische Oper Berlin, Telemann Festival in Magdeburg, Kunstfest Weimar, MDR Summer Music Festival in Leipzig, BFM in Geneva, Davos Festival, Festival Ultraschall, Oper Leipzig and recently at the Barocktage of the Staatsoper unter den Linden.
As a mezzo-soprano, Hildegard Rützel has given concert performances with renowned ensembles such as Concerto Köln, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, musikFabrik Cologne, Ensemble Alternance, Ensemble Avantgarde Leipzig as well as the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, Jack Quartet and the Camerata Salzburg, NDR Kammerensemble, Münchner Symphoniker, Ensemble Mixtura, Sheridan Ensemble, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
In her lieder recitals, Hildegard Rützel is accompanied by the pianists Mitsuko Uchida, Kathrin Dasch, Gilles Vonsattel, Philip Meyers and Axel Bauni. Together with the pianist and composer Steffen Schleiermacher she performed in the Musica Nova Series at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. |
