The German tenor, Kim Schrader, studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin with Bernd Riedel and Roman Trekel, and in the Lieder class of Professor Herbert Kaliga. He also participated in master-classes with Peter Schreier and Harry Kupfer.
Kim Schrader's first engagement was at the Opernstudio der Deutschen Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf. He made guest appearances in Köln (Le Rossignol), Gelsenkirchen (Salome), Halberstadt (Der Waffenso-Imied), Graz (Così fan tutte), Dessau (Der Diktator/Der Zar Lässt Sich Fotografieren), Wiesbaden (Figaro).
In September 1999 Kim Schrader became ensemble member at the Süsthüringischen Staats Theaters Meiningen. He has appeared there as Alfredo, Wenzel, Fernando, Almaviva, Rosillon and Uriel. He also appeared in Così fan tutte with the Inboccallupo-Ensemble in Berlin and Bad Lauchsträdt, also in Berlin at the Konzerthaus Berlin (Samiel Hilf/Entführung Gendrillon). In 2001 he was at the Münchner Singschul and worked with Eberhard Büchner. In summer 2003 he was back in Berlin.
Kim Schrader also gives Lieder recitals and concerts (J.S. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Medek, George Frideric Handel…). Recent productions in Meiningen in which he took part were Idamante and Fairy Queen, and in winter 2004 he gave guest appearance at the Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels. |
