The German baritone, Heiko Michael Schulz, grew up in Westphalia, Germany. He studied at the Essen conservatory, the Folkwang-Hochschule. After paedagogical exams in arts and music he commenced his vocal studies with Prof. Dr. Ulf Bästlein in 1999. After attending classes as well in Dortmund and Graz (Austria), he got his final degree studying with Prof. Berthold Schmid in 2005. Besides he took Lied-master-classes with Charles Spencer, Axel Bauni, and Jutta Bucelis-Dehn.
Heiko Michael Schulz' successful carreer bases on a large variety of repertoire with a range from early Baroque to contemporary music, which implicates as well his appearance with professional choirs like the two famous Berlin broadcasting choirs Rundfunkchor Berlin and RIAS-Kammerchor, with which he works frequently since 2005. As a soloist he has performed in France, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Switzerland, Luxemburg and recently at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. His appearance with Chorus Musicus Köln refers to a long termed and steady collaboration. |
