Nicole Schumann (Contralto)

Born: Bad Königshofen, Bavaria, Germany

The German contralto and choral conductr, Nicole Schumann, completed two-year training program at the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Bad Königshofen (2012-2014); then studied music education (choral and orchestral conducting) at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt (2014-2025). This course of study laid the foundation for her to pursue her diverse interests. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Singing under Professor Richard Staab at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt (2014-2020). She furthered her studies during her Master's degree with Professor Timothy Sharp at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (2018-2022), where she focused on concert/lieder performance. She also participated in mastere-classes with, among others, Professor Thomas Heyer, Professor Klesie Kelly-Moog, Lisa Wedekind, and Professor Timothy Sharp, which provided her with valuable insights into both vocal technique and artistic development. She completed a B-choir conductor certification at the Bundesakademie für Kulturelle Bildung Wolfenbüttel (2015-2017); and postgraduate studies in Choral Conducting at the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt (2022-2025).

As a soloist, Nicole Schumann is particularly in demand in the concert repertoire. Ensemble singing is equally one of her passions. She regularly performs with the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, and various independent ensembles, including Ensemble Mannheim Vocal.
