The German mezzo-soprano and music teacher/therapist, Generose Sehr, studied vocal pedagogy at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (2006-2005), obtaining her Master of Arts degree in Singing Education. She also studied Living and Moving with Christel Schnabel (October 2017-July 2021), where she also was Assistant in the training of craniosacral bodywork (June 2019-July 2021); and Epigenetics Coach at Healversity (September 2021-August 2022).
Generose Sehr was a member of the Arnold Schoenberg Chor (Director: Erwin Ortner) for many years (May 2008-December 2016). Since August 2011, she is active as a freelance singer, participating in numerous opera and concert productions in Austria and abroad. She has appeared as a soloist in concerts, including Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat mater, Georg Philipp Telemann's Cantatas, Rossini's Stabat mater, parts from Schubert's Winterreise with string quartet; in Lieder recitals, including Music of the 20s and 30s combined with Hugo Wiener and Georg Kreisler; and in unconventional opera productions, including W.A. Mozart's La Finta Giardinera, a-cappella opera The Blind (Kammeroper Wien), Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel (Opera rund um), Prinzessin LiebdieLiebe (Jeunesse). Currently she is a member of BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari). She is also active as a singing teacher/coach/therapist. Her pedagogical approach lies on working with amateurs of all ages. She currently lives in Vienna, Austria. |
