The Danish tenor, Jakob Skjoldborg, is a self-taught singer with a musical background reaching into rock, musical and classical music. He studied at Viborg Katedralskole in Viborg, Denmark (1993-1996). He obtained his Master of Arts degree in Danish Language and Literature and Communication from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2001-2007).
Jakob Skjoldborg works as freelance musician/composer since January 2000. In February 2001, he founded the indie rock band Windermere. He sang tenor in Holmens Kantori and Holmens Vokalensemble in Copenhagen (February 1998-August 2014). He has been singer in Mogens Dahl Koncertsal (since May 2010) and Ars Nova Copenhagen (since October 2010). Since June 2012, he also works as Manager of production and PR at Ars Nova. Besides these engagement, he has a soloist career mainly with music from the Renaissance and Baroque. In addition, he is a co-founder (October 2008) of the Holmens Mens Quartet, Holmgang, that melts hearts wherever they go. He has also released two critically acclaimed albums with the indie rock band Windermere. He also sings with Enghave Barok (Director: Christian Dehn Bang).
In addition, Jakob Skjoldborg worked as producer/pre-editing at Koncern TV- og Film (August 2007-September 2010). His education in Danish and language psychology sometimes develops into a project where he puts music to Danish poetry that leaves a sweet taste in the ears. He currently lives in Copenhagen Denmark. |
