The German mezzo-soprano/contralto singer and choral conductor, Anne-Beke Sontag, is alumna of the German National Academic Foundation.
Anne-Beke Sontag has developed an extensive repertoire in her busy and longstanding concert career as an oratorio singer, ranging from works of the early Baroque to the oratorios of J.S. Bach and Felix Mendelssohn to modern music. She has sung at various festivals, CD productions and radio recordings round out her artistic output. She has also made a name for herself as a conductor (2019 J.S. Bach: Matthäus-Passion BWV 244, 2022 George Frideric Handel: The Messiah, 2024 J.S. Bach: Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248). A central priority of her work in conducting is to give young people access to oratorio works by involving school choirs. She is also active as a music teacher at the Kieler Gelehrtenschule. She currently lives in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. |
