The American mezzo-soprano singer, choral conductor and voice instructor, Mandi Steele, obtained her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Boise State University (2007); her Master of Music degree from University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where she was also Graduate Assistant (2014-May 2016). Currently she is PhD Student at University of Colorado Boulder (since August 2025). She was the winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition at the University of South Dakota and took 2nd place in the Graduate Classical division of SD-NATS.
Mandi Steele is an avid professional vocalist, singing with prestigious ensembles around the region. She performed as a member of the GRAMMY-nominated South Dakota Chorale, and as a founding member of Transept. She currently performs with the Boulder-based ensembles Seicento Baroque Ensemble and Sirene. As a mezzo-soprano, she is an active soloist and has performed in opera, musical theater, concert, and oratorio.
Mandi Steele is a highly sought-after clinician and adjudicator of junior high and high school clinics and festivals. Mandi has been an educator in many different facets for years. She has taught all ages from toddler to adult and every ability level. She specializes in voice, but has taught piano, guitar, ukulele, and general music. She believes in the power of music and works very hard to help every student find their own unique voice through music.
Mandi Steele is Owner/Instructor of her private voice studio Mandi Steele Music Studio in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (since June 2018). In addition, she has held the following positions: General Music at ESU 8 Learning Center (2010-2013); General and Choral Music at Lennox School (July 2016-2018); Founder and Executive Director of Vermillion Children's Choir (2015-May 2016); sINgSPIRE Vocal Instructor at Breathe Bravely (January 2017-2019); Executive Director and Assistant Conductor of Sioux Falls Children's Choir (August 2018-August 2019); Director of the Gillette Children's Choir; Director of Steele Musical Productions; Vocal Music Director at Campbell County High School (August 2019-2025). Currently she is Graduate Part-Time Instructor at University of Colorado Boulder. She currently lives in Loveland, Colorado. |
