The Belgian mezzo-soprano, Herlinde Van de Straete, started her musical path in 2004 with the violin and discovered her love for singing through choir singing. She completed her master's studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen (KCA) with Anne Cambier (2017-June 2023). She also attended Lieder classes with Lucienne van Deyck and Aäron Wajnberg, contemporary singing with Els Mondelaers and attended master-classes and courses with Malcolm Martineau, Hans Eijsackers and Claron McFadden, Martin Hellström and Joseph Middleton, among others.
Herlinde Van de is a versatile singer with a specific interest in classical music theater, contemporary compositions and interdisciplinary projects. In addition to new creations, she also has a heart for the delicate Lieder genre, vocal ensemble and chamber music. She has already performed in various (opera) productions of the KCA and Muziektheater Transparant, including her own graduation project Aus den Visionen. She has already been a guest at O. Festival voor Opera. Muziek. Theater. in Rotterdam and at events of the European Opera Academy and sings in the vocal ensemble Duartes. |
