The mezzo-soprano of Hungarian-German origin, Angelika Szolnoki-Grah passed the exam in 1985. She began to appear on Städtischen Bühnen Augsburg, before she decided for singing studies at the Musikhochschule Köln. She was seriously encouraged by Waltraud Meier, Dolores Ziegler and Professor Janina Stano.
Still before her diploma, Angelika Szolnoki-Grah was engaged as a guest at the Opernhaus Köln. However, her special love for years have been the sacred music and Lieder. Her repertoire reaches from the Baroque to the modern times. She made herself a name both in the Holland, were she gave concerts with the Concertgebouw Camer Orkest Amsterdam, and in Germany, with big success in a staged production of J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) in Bonn 1997 and repeated appearances at the Kölner Philharmonie (among other things with Stabat Mater of A. Dvorák, Mass in B minor (BWV 232) by J.S. Bach.
