The Malaysian soprano, Jasmine Ting (Chinese: 陳孟尼), developed an interest in singing since she was young because of her mother’s influence. Her mentors include Mdm. Brenda Ting, Mdm. Tang and Mr. Kiu. She studied with Mr. Ian Lim during her music study in University of Malaya. Upon her graduation, she was enrolled in full time study in Church Musician Building at Te Deum Music Workshop, under the sponsorship of PJ State Chinese Methodist Church (PJSTATECMC). Conducting was her major along with vocal study as her minor. During then, her vocal came to a breakthrough, under the tutelage of Malaysia’s renowned sopranos, Angela Chock and Cecilia Yap.
Jasmine Ting served as a full time Church Worship and Sacred Music Director in PJSTATECMC from 2013 to 2016. She performed a couple oratorios with Yin Qi Chorale as a soloist and a choral member. In 2016, she was invited to sing with the East Malaysia Bach Cantata Singers lecture-concert tour. She has settled permanently in Adelaide, South Australia. She serves in the Committee of Worship and Music ministry in CMCA Holy Methodist Church Adelaide.. |
