The Portuguese baritone, Job Tomé, began his musical studies at the Conservatório de Música do Porto, where he studied piano with Constantin Sandu and singing with Cecília Fontes. He pursued his higher education at ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo do Porto (Porto Higher School of Music and Performing Arts), where he completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in Singing in the class of Professor Rui Taveira. He regularly works on his vocal technique with Professor Peter Harrison. He has received awards in national and international competitions, including the Helena Sá e Costa Prize, the 1st Rotary Foundation Prize for Lied and Portuguese Song, and the 2nd Prize in the Luísa Todi National Competition.
Job Tomé has performed on numerous national and international stages. Between 2004 and 2006 he was a resident singer at the Estúdio de Ópera da Casa da Música (Porto). In 2008-2009 he was part of the CNIPAL - Centre National D'Insertion Professionnelle d'Artistes Lyriques in Marseille. Between 2010 and 2014 he was a member of the Académie du Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
On stage, Job Tomé performed central roles in the baritone repertoire, such as Aeneas (Dido & Aeneas), Germont (La Traviata), Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore, Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Il Conte di Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Conte in Il Segretto di Susanna, Schaunard in La Bohème and Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Storyteller in A Flowering Tree, Rodrigo in Matria.
Job Tomé is the founder and president of the company all'Opera, dedicated to the production and promotion of operatic repertoire. He currently lives in Porto, Portugal. |
