The Hungarian baritone, Bálint Végh, started his singing studies in Hungary with the early music specialist Éva Lax and then pursued the perfectioning of his vocal technique with Katalin Károlyi at the Music Faculty of the University of Pécs (Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Singing: 2021-2024). Now he is studying for his Master of of Music degree in Classical Singing with Axel Everaert
at the Conservatorium Maastricht (since 2025). He has attended master-classes with renowned teachers such as Andrea Rost (2024), Krisztián Cser (2023), Alain Buet (2022), István Horváth (2023), Ágnes Kovács (2020) and István Kovácsházi. He is a regular visitor of the master-classes of the Early Music Days of Vác (2020), one of the biggest early music festivals of Hungary where he received coachings on German and French Baroque music from György Vashegyi (2020), Fabien Armengoud (2022) and Benoît Dratwicki (2022). He was the member of the Rost Andrea Opera Academy (2024) where he received personal coachings on the role of Papageno from the world famous Hungarian lyrical soprano.
Bálint Végh is currently based in Maastricht, the Netherlands. His open-minded and explorative approach to music makes him one of the most interesting musical personalities of his generation. He is ready to sing all kinds of repertory from Rennaissance choir music through bel canto operas to romantic Lieder and atonal 20th century compositions for solo voice.
Bálint Végh is comfortable on stage also as an opera singer and a concert singer. In operatic repertory he performed W.A. Mozart and Donizetti roles, such as Bartolo and Antonio in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro in the Amadeus Festival of Bjelovar and with the Lyric Theather of Crete (2022), and Malatesta in Don Pasquale (2024) as part of a stage project with the University of Pécs in the Kodály Center of Pécs. He participated in several performances of oratorical compositions as a soloist, such as Ariel Ramirez's Misa criolla and soloist in Heinrich Schütz's Musikalisches Exequien and Weihnachtshistorie (2023). His intelligence and high knowledge of languages gives him a big potential in the Lied repertory too.
Bálint Végh also has numerous choir experience. He was active for a long time as a member of the Tutti Cantabile chamber choir based in Budapest. He has sung in the University Choir of Pécs with whom he participated in two successful tours in the USA and in China where he sang also in solo. He was member for several productions of the Festival Choir of the Pannon Philharmonics and of the National Theater of Pécs. He performed with them pieces like Joseph Haydn's Die Schöpfung, Johannes Brahms's Liebeslieder Waltzer and Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème (2022). His passion for music and curiosity bring him to new and new challenges that he would like to share with his audiences. |
