The Dutch counter-tenor, Erjan van der Velde, has been singing from a young age, first as a second soprano, later as a boy alto. He studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen (Bachelor's degree: 2016-2017); International Business Law at the Leiden University (Bachelor's degree in Law: 2017-2021); and Early Music Vocal Studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag (Bachelor's degree: September 2020-July 2024).
As a counter-tenor, Erjan van der Velde has frequently collaborated on J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 and Johannes-Passion BWV 245, and Maurice Duruflé's Requiem. He frequently collaborates with ConcertoValiante Baroque (including J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248), with Residentie Kamerkoor/Residentie Bachorkest (Director: Rodrigo Lluch) and was also engaged in September 2021 as a counter-tenor with Toon de Liefde at the Huygens Festival. He currently lives in Dalfsen. |
