The Spanish contralto, Julieta Viñas Arjona, has a degree in Singing from the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Castillo" de Sevilla (CSMS) (2007-2012) and a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Valencia. She studied Historical Singing at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE) in Porto (2013-2014) and obtained with Honors the University Master in Musicology, Musical Education and Interpretation of Early Music from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in Barcelona (2015-2017), where she studied with the soprano Marta Almajano. and has received classes from teachers such as Carlos Mena, Richard Levitt, Stephan MacLeod, Maria Cristina Kiehr, Marco Scavazza, Lambert Climent, etc. She was the winner of the Salvat Beca Bach 2016 (Fundació Salvat and Fundació BZM) and a finalist in the IV International Early Music Competition of Gijón (2015).
Julieta Viñas is co-founder of the Dolce Rima group with which she recorded the albums "Al alba venid" (2013), "Saffo Novella" (2021) and Mil pesares (2024). She has collaborated on other works such as Cantigas de Rome (2014), Cantigas de Alexandria (2015), Cantigas de Ultramar (2016), Cantigas de Jerusalem (2017) and Cantigas del Códice de Toledo (2021) by Alfonso X the Wise - Eduardo Paniagua (Madrid); Alonso Lobo: Sacred Vocal Music by Coro Victoria (Madrid, 2019) and Sacri Profanis, by Delirivm Musica (Madrid, 2019). She has worked with Los Afectos Diversos, Delirivm Musica, La Bellemont, Capela Compostelana, Bach Collegium Barcelona, Coro Victoria de Madrid, etc. She has performed in international festivals held in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, England, Germany, the Czech Republic and Colombia.
She received, as co-founder of Dolce Rima, the 2016 Young Group Award at the II GEMA Awards and the Award for Best Baroque Group (17th century) at the VII GEMA Innovation and Creativity Awards (2022). |
