The American tenor, keyboardist and educator, Mark Murphy Vogel, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College (Class of 2014); and his Master of Music degree in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame (August 2018-May 2020). He also studied Historical Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University (Class of 2022). Most recently, Mark was awarded first prize in the 2021 Audrey Rooney Vocal Competition from the Kentucky Bach Choir.
Prior to his time in the midwest, Mark Vogel served as a tenor choral scholar at Hereford Cathedral in the UK (August 2017-August 2018). There he enjoyed performances at the 2018 Three Choirs Festival, Buckingham Palace (2018), and both the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City (June 2018).
Mark Vogel enjoys a varied career as a vocalist, keyboardist, and educator. He served as Director of Vocal Studies at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio (January 2022-May 2023). Recent professional engagements include projects with ensembles such as Seraphic Fire (October 2016-2017; Director: Patrick Dupré Quigley), Portland Bach Experience, Apollo's Fire (since December 2019; Director: Jeannette Sorrell), True Concord Voices and Orchestra (since January 2019), Kinnara Ensemble (May 2014-2016), Bach Collegium Fort Wayne, Chattanooga Bach Choir, The Crossing (since August 2016), and Classical Uprising (since June 2019).
In addition to his singing, Mark Vogel is an avid keyboardist. Previous collaborative piano engagements include a year in residence with the American Boychoir School (August 2014-July 2015), the 2018 National Association for Music Education All-National Honor Choir, the 2016 Tennessee All State Honor Choir, the 2015 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, the 2012 Southern Division ACDA Honor Choir, and concert and recital work at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (October 2016-August 2017), Westminster Choir College, and Princeton University (September 2013-August 2016). He currently lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. |
