The German tenor, Tobias Wall, was a soprano soloist with the Augsburger Domsingknaben. He sang in oratorios and boys' opera roles, including 1st boy in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Cupid in Cavalli's Apollo und Daphne, Anamirl in Der fidele Bauer, etc. He sings on their CD "Joseph Haydn 3 Masses". He studied singing with Dorothea Christ (Augsburg) and Bernhard Gärtner (Karlsruhe). He studied Philosophy and Art History at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München/Hochschule für Philosophie der Jesuiten (1991-1996); obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Cultural Management from the Institut für Kulturmanagement Ludwigsburg (1997-1999); and obtained his Magister Artium in Philosophy from Hochschule für Philosophie München. He also studied in Berlin.
Tobias Wall took part in projects of Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), Württ Kammerchor & Circus Musicus (Director: Professor Dieter Kurz), Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele (Director: Ludwig Gönnenwein). He had solo engagements in opera and concert, including as a boy soprano at the Augsburger Stadttheater and the Gärtnerplatztheater; as a tenor at the Canto Festival in Bayreuth and the Tiroler Musikfestival in Erl. He is active as a concert singer, especially oratorios, and performs as a soloist with Frieder Bernius.
Tobias Wall is art theoretician, cultural manager and art consultant. He has worked as Assistant to the management at Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg (2000-2001); Dr. at Karin-Abt-Straubinger-Stiftung (since 2006); Art expert and curator at KSK Esslingen-Nürtingen (since 2008). He has taught at the Institut für Kulturmanagement, Ludwigsburg and the International University Bruchsal. His research interests are art and museum theory, cultural communication and the theory of cultural management. He wrote the book Das unmögliche Museum: Zum Verhältnis von Kunst und Kunstmuseen der Gegenwart (Schriften zum Kultur- und Museumsmanagement, 2006). |
