The American bass and voice teacher, Robert Waterbury, appereaed several times at the Carmel Bach Festival under Sandor Salgo (1965, 1969, 1982). Robert and and his wife Liz have been members of First Church in Redding. California about ten years. Robert is the First Church Chacel Choir Director. With his wife Liz, he created the Shasta Vocal Institute in 2000, an intensive vocal training program for aspiring singers. Robert also started the North Star Community Opera in 2001 - they gave performances throughout the years. He discontinued that in 2007 so he could concentrate on the Shasta Vocal Institute performances. He gives voice lessons to 25 students a week. |
