The Hong Kong native pianist and mezzo-soprano, Mun-Tzung Wong, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Chinese University of Hong Kong (2005-2008); her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music in New York (2008-2010); and her Professional Studies Certificate in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music (2010-2011). As a young conductor, she has studied with maestros such as Don Schleicher, Greg Ortega, Paul Nadler and Kirk Trevor.
A collaborative and solo pianist in New York City, Mun-Tzung Wong has appeared on WQXR and performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, Steinway Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. She has worked with maestros Kurt Masur, Philippe Entremont and George Manahan. Since 2013, she has been the accompanist pianist for Westchester Oratorio Society; and was appointed Assistant Artistic Director in June 2015.
Mun-Tzung Wong has been Pianist at New York Theatre Ballet (January 2011-2015); Pianist at Riverdale Choral Society in Bronx (since September 2011); Music Director at St. John's Episcopal Church in Passaic, New Jersey; Executive Director and co-Artistic Director at New York Conducting Institute; Assistant Musical Director in Opera Program at The Missouri Symphony - MOSY in Columbia, Missouri. She joined Joan Dornemann’s International Vocal Arts Institute as a staff pianist in 2014; since 2015 she has been the staff accompanist and coach at St. Petersburg Opera Company in Florida; and since June 2016 she has been Assistant Conductor at New Rochelle Opera. She is a staff accompanist and the orchestral pianist at the Manhattan School of Music (since 2009), where she has been working with teachers such as Mignon Dunn, Pinchas Zukerman and Charles Neidich.
Also an emerging mezzo-soprano, Mun-Tzung Wong is currently studying with Catherine Mazzone. As a teaching artist, she maintains a private instrumental and vocal coaching studio in New York City. |
