The American counter-tenor, Bryce Elliot Zimmerman, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree n Voice and Opea from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, under the direction of Ah Young Hong (August 2020-May 2024). He studies for his Master of Music degree in Historical Performance at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music (since September 2024) and Early Music Historical Performance Practice at Jacobs School of Music (since May 2025).
Bryce Zimmerman is known for his unbridled passion and curiosity. In terms of his voice, he has been told that it reminds people of what a plum would sound like. It\'s like a big hug, and an ethereal quality as well as an impressive lower register. In 2020, he performed as Prince Athamus in George Frideric Handel's Semele. This opera was performed virtually during his freshman year at the Peabody Institute of Music. The year after, he took part in the Baltimore Concert Opera playing the role of Tobey the Mute Boy in Carlo Menotti's The Medium. In 2021, he performed the alto solo in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 12 with the Baltimore Baroque Band. He also has performed countless solos for various churches in Georgia and North Carolina. He has performed, with Metropolitan Opera star soprano Indra Thomas, twice as an artist in residence with the Atlanta Boy Choir. In 2022, he was a part of *A Celebration For Women in the Bible* featuring composer Tristan Latchford. In 2023, he both performed as Cupid in Venus and Adonis. |
