Johann Major (Hymn-Writer)

Born: 1564 - Reinstedt near Orlamünde
Died: 1654

Johann Major was active as a pastor sharing duties with Martin Rutilius in Weimar beginning in 1592. Later, in 1605, he became superintendent and Professor of Theology at the University of Jena.
