The German soprano, Annemei Blessing-Leyhausen, studied first church musicm, piano methodology and children voice training at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen; and worked as a church musician in Tuttlingen and Stuttgart. She then she studied singing in artistic postgraduate studies with Professor Richard Wistreich from the Institut für Alte Musik der Musikhochschule Trossingen. This was complemented by master-classes with the Hilliard Ensemble in Cambridge and Jessica Cash in London.
As a soloist and as an ensemble singer Annemei Blessing-Leyhausen is in demand at home and abroad in Europe and the USA, particularly in the area of church music and oratorio. She is a member of various chamber music ensembles, both in the field of early music as well as in professional choirs such as the Deutschen Kammerchor, in whose management she operates, or the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock). Her artistic stations include the Konzerthaus Wien, Philharmonie Köln, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris, Die Glocke Bremen, Konzerthaus Berlin, Dom zu Speyer and the Lincoln Centre New York City, as well as the Barbican Hall in London, Staatstheater Warschau, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern.
Annemei Blessing-Leyhausen's singing career is also documented by radio broadcasts and sound recordings among others with La Stagione Frankfurt and Deutschlandradio.
