The American mezzo-soprano, Eleaine Bonazzi, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Elaine Bonazzi's appearances in opera, oratorio, and recitals were acclaimed in North America and Europe for their profound characerizations and superlative vocalism. She appeared with many leading opera companies, orchestras, and music festivals in the USA. and abroad, including the New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Netherlands Opera, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Spoleto, Venice, Wolf Trap, and Mostly Mozart festivals, working with such conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Leopold Stokowski and Lorin Maazel. She presented more operatic premieres than any other American singer; she was personally selected by eminent composers, including Igor Stravinsky, Copland, Carter, Sondheim, Argento, Chavez, Menotti, Rorem and Thomson to perform their works.
Elaine Bonazzi was Performing Artist in Residence, and taught Voice, Vocal Repertory, Acting for Singers at the Department of Music, State University of New York at Stony Brook. Before coming to Stony Brook, she Bonazzi taught at Peabody Institute of Music, and presented-master classes all over the world.
