The American soprano and actress, Christine Cornell, obtained herr Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The Jacob's School of Music at Indiana University, studying under Mary Ann Hart and Timothy Noble (2005-2009); and she is a Master of Music Candidate in Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music in New York City, having studied under Maitland Peters. She is currently studying voice with Joyce Hall.
She more recently opened for Alice Ripley: All Sondheim in a concert intending to furnish a new music and theatre educational program in Bridgeport, Connecticut . Last spring she finished working on a new musical by Adam Cohen and Glenn Basset called Dig A Little Deeper at the ARC Stages Theatre in Pleasantville, New York. More recently she sang alongside Mamie Parris, Eddie Egan, and Jacob Smith in the one night only performance of Michael Valenti's Lovesong: the Musical at Lincoln Center. Most recently, Christine was in Frank Loesser's The Most Happy Fella at the Goodspeed in East Haddamn, Connecticut and Laquearia in Edinburgh, Scotland for the Fringe Festival. Her band, Christine Cornell and the Quaret have been performing all over Brooklyn this Spring, and have exciting recording plans for late-Summer 2015.
Other favorite credits include Sophie de Palma in Master Class (Gulfshore Playhouse), The Sound of Music (Papermill), M.F.K. Fisher in The Art of Eating (NYMVAE), Buffy in the collegiate premiere of A Wedding (Indiana University Opera Theatre), performing with the Trinity Choir in Virgil Thompson and Gertrude Stein's Four Saints in Three Acts at Brooklyn Academy of Music with the Mark Morris Dance Group, and Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street (Curtain Call). Christine works as a musician for Trinity Wallstreet and is working on several jazz performances and recording projects with various groups in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. |
