The French soprano, Anne-Emmanuelle Davy, studied at CNSMD (Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse) de Lyon,: flute (National Diploma of Higher Musical Studies in the class of Philippe Bernold in 2004) and opera singing (Certificate of General Studies in the class of Isabelle Germain in 2007). She holds the State Diploma and Certificate of Fitness for teaching the flute.
Anne-Emmanuelle Davy is very attracted to the theater, and in 2013 participated in an international tour with W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte staged by Peter Brook in the role of Pamina. She was Papagena in the same show in 2011-2012. She was engaged by Irina Brook as an actress/singer for his show around Ibsen's Peer Gynt, created in 2012 at the Salzburg Festival. She has also sung roles as: Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte (staged by Zoltàn Csekö), Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin (Opéra-Théâtre, staged by André Fornier), Nanetta in Verdi's Falstaff (staged by Laurent Prat) and Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (staged by Michaël Maïno, Festival Saoû Chante Mozart) with the Ensemble Carpe Diem (Director: Jean-Pierre Arnaud); Isella in Schubert's Die Verschworenen, (staged by Jean Lacornerie, Opéra de Saint-Etienne, Théâtre de la Renaissance Oullins) with Les Solistes de Lyon-Bernard Tétu; Maguelonne in Viardot's Cendrillon (staged by François Jacquet, Opéra de Saint Etienne); Première Grâce (singing/dancing role) in Cavalli s Ercole Amante (conducted by Gabriel Garrido, staged by Pierre Kuentz) at the Académie Baroque Européenne d’Ambronay; Deuxième Servante in Messager's L’Amour masqué (staged by Ruth Orthmann) and Fortuna in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea (staged by Jose Miguel Arzuaga) at CNSMDL.
Very involved in contemporary music, Anne-Emmanuelle Davy deepens this repertoire and collaborates with contemporary composers for many creations. She is the founder of three formations, the Ensemble Alterduft (Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire), Trio jet:zt (Morton Feldman's Three Voices) and the le Quatuor 4anima (creations and early music).
Anne-Emmanuelle Davy performs regularly as a soloist or in small ensemble, in recital and on stage, in a repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary works, with the Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Ensemble Aedes (Director: Matthieu Romano), Résonance Contemporaine (Director: Alain Goudard), Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble (Director: Marc Minkowski), Les Solistes de Lyon (Director: Bernard Tétu), Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), Chœur Britten (Director: Nicole Corti), Quatuor Leonis, Ensemble Carpe Diem (Director: Jean-Pierre Arnaud), Ensemble Cairn (Directors: Jérôme Combier, Guillaume Bourgogne), Orchestre de Chambre de Paris...
Among her next projects for the 2015-2016 season: Le Crocodile Trompeur/Didon et Enée, reprise the role of Didon, created by Judtih Shemla, staged by Jeanne Candel and Samuel Achache, 2015 autumn tour; Pierrot Lunaire and String Quartet No. 2 by Arnold Schoenberg, with members of the l’Orchestre de Chambre de Paris; reprise of La Métamorphose by Michaël Levinas, role La femme de peine, with the ensemble Le Balcon; 7 Stones, creation, opera by Ondrej Adamek, libretto by Sjón, staged/choreographed by Eric Oberdorff, role of The Maid, Aix en Provence Festival in 2016. |
