The American counter-tenor, Jeffrey Dooley, is an active artist in the USA and in Europe, and sings with modern orchestras as well as orchestras of period instruments, among them the Milwaukee and Connecticut Symphonies, Musica Sacra, Amor Artis, Concert Royal, Tafelmusik, Badinage, and the Waverly Consort. He has also appeared at the Madeira Bach Festival.
In opera, Jeffrey Dooley performs roles in both the Baroque and contemporary repertoires. He recorded an album of Purcell Airs and Duet for Nonesuch, and sang the alto solo for Joshua Rifkin’s recording of the J.S. Bach's B minor Mass (BWV 232). A regular soloist with Toronto’s Baroque orchestra Tafelmusik, he also performs frequently with the Montreal Studio of Ancient Music, and the Levin Baroque Ensemble in New York. He sang the Sorceror in Purcell’s Dido and Aenas, and Egeo in George Frideric Handel’s Tesco in Purchase, NY.
