The Swiss tenor, Valentin Johannes Gloor, studied solo singing at the Musikhochschule Winterthur-Zürich with Paul Steiner, and at at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz with Ulf Bästlein. He received the teaching diploma and a Master of Arts (concert diploma) with honours, and for his achievements he was awarded the Honorary Prize of Kunst-Universität Graz. He also attended Lieder and singing master-classes with Jill Feldmann, Christoph Prégardien, Wolfgang Holzmair, Brigitte Fassbaender, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Charles Spencer and Norman Shetler.
Valentin Gloor gives numerous concerts in Switzerland and neighbouring European countries. His repertoire is mfocused in the areas of Lieder and oratorios of all eras. Selected stage projects complement his activities. He is regularly involved in premieres.
As a soloist and as a member of the solo vocal ensemble Das Kammerton-Quartett, Valentin Gloor has appeared on several radio and television, has recorded CD’s and toured in the USA. In 2006 he received from Aargauer Kuratorium a prize for his contribution to the artistic creation. Since 2006 he is regularly invited as a guest lecturer and concert singer at the Universidade Federal da Bahia (Brazil).
