The American tenor, Richard Heard, has a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Richard Heard has performed in recitals, opera and oratorio, and with many orchestras in the USA, Germany and Costa Rica, including L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He has been a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and has received grants from National Society of Arts and Letters and National Federation of Music Clubs. His first CD, Art Songs by African-American Composers, was released in 1998.
