The American mezzo-soprano, Alexandra Ivanoff, received her training at the Eastman School of Music and Yale University.
Alexandra Ivanoff appears in John Huston's film Prizzi's Honor singing Schubert's Ave Maria; she has appeared in the Lincoln Center (New York) production of Threepenny Opera, and the off-Broadway shows The Club (directed by Tommy Tune) and Miracolo d'Amore, which was also featured in the Spoleto Festival and recorded on the MHS label. Locally, she has appeared as soloist with the The Fremont Symphony, San Francisco Bach Choir, The Russian Orchestra, the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra, and the Marin Youth Symphony.
Alexandra Ivanoff is not only an accomplished performer in opera, musical theater, film and jazz, she is also a contributor to major mags like Time Out Istanbul and Andante. She is also working on her first book, Back to the Old World: An American Woman of a Certain Age Opts Out of the New World. She is also guiding toiurs Istanbul’s classical music scene. |
