The German soprano, Christina Landshamer, studied with Angelica Vogel at the College of Music and Theatre in Munich and continued her studies in the lied class of Professor Konrad Richter and in the soloist class of Dunja Vejzović at the Stuttgart State University of Music and the Performing Arts. During her singing career, she has received numerous awards: In 2002, she was academist of the Académie européenne du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and in 2003 she received a scholarship of the German Music Council. In 2004, she won a prize at the International J.S. Bach Competition and at the Supportive Prize Competition of the Munich Concert Society, in 2006 at the Kissinger Song Competition of the Bavarian Radio “La voce.”
In 2005, Christina Landshamer participated in the world premiere of Hans Zender’s opera Chief Joseph at the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden. In early 2007, she performed the main part - the voice of Andy Warhol - in an exciting world premiere of the chamber opera called Trans-Warhol by the French composer Philippe Schoeller in Geneva. In the same year she was heard as Suor Genovieffa in a concert performance of Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Stuttgarter Philharmoniker/Gabriel Feltz), as well as in concert performances of W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni as Zerlina at the Festival Herrenchiemsee. For the 2007-2008 season, she was invited to perform at the Stuttgart State Opera as Cinna in W.A. Mozart’s Lucio Silla under Konrad Junghänel, as Frasquita in Georges Bizet’s Carmen under Olaf Henzold and at the Rhine Opera in Strasbourg as Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven’s Fidelio under Marc Albrecht.
Important landmarks of her career so far include concerts with the Münchner Philharmoniker, with the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, the Munich Bach Collegium, the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, the Vienna Sound Forum and the Munich Radio Orchestra. She sang under the direction of renowned conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Peter Schreier, Ulf Schirmer, Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos, Yakov Kreizberg, Helmuth Rilling und Stefan Asbury and could be heard at international festivals such as the Munich Biennale, the Wiener Festwochen, the Salzburger Mozartwoche (W.A. Mozart's Grabmusik), the Berliner and Ludwigsburger Festspiele as well as the Rheingau Music Festival (Johannes Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem and Penderecki's Lacrimosa). She toured with the Bach Collegium Japan under Masaaki Suzuki (J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244) throughout Japan as well as various European cities (J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor (BWV 232) and Magnificat (BWV 243)).
After a first successful co-operation with the Collegium Vocale Gent under Daniel Reuss, she was invited for another tour in 2008, this time with George Frideric Handel’s Brockes Passion, HWV 48 under Marcus Creed. In 2007, the young soprano singer performed with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra for the first time. At the Herrenchiemsee Festival, she could be heard in Antonio Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans and Gloria. In December she ends the year with J.S. Bach’s Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) both at the Berliner Konzerthaus and under Enoch zu Guttenberg at the Munich Philharmonics. In January 2008, she debuted with Gustav Mahler’s 4th Symphony and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and in November, her first co-operation with the Orchestre des Champs Elysées and Philippe Herreweghe with Haydn’s Schöpfung on the programme. In September 2008, she sang G. Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under Manfred Honeck and J. Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg under Marc Albrecht. In April 2009, Riccardo Chailly invited Christina Landshamer as soprano singer for his concerts with J.S. Bach’s Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), which is planned to be released on CD at Decca.
The young soprano singer has a passion for chamber music projects, such as the song duet with the pianist Irena Jančevskytė, and for the field of contemporary music, such as in the framework of the chamber music series of the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio, the Klangspur Concerts of the Munich Biennale as well as the chamber music series of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. In May 2007, she hosted, together with Jerôme Hantai, an ensemble recital in the Cité de la Musique in Paris. In 2008, she had guest recitals in Reutlingen and Bad Urach with her permanent piano accompanist Irena Jančevskytė.
