The French mezzo-soprano, Violaine Lucas, began her career with Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie) and regularly participates in various opera productions as well as concerts. She is also a member of the Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey).
On stage, Violaine Lucas performed First Witch in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (Opera de Rouen), Monteverdi's Madrigals (ARCAL), Un pâtre in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges (Opéra de Rouen), Une bergère héroïque in Lully's Armide (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées with Les Arts Florissants).
In concert, Violaine Lucas sang soprano 2 in W.A. Mozart's Great Mass, George Frideric Handel's Dixit Dominus, Benjamin Britten's Abraham and Isaac, Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas, Motets by Lully and Charpentier (with Les Arts Florissants) or quartets by Rossini (Alain Planès, piano and direction).
