The American mezzo-soprano, Lee A. Morgan, holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied with Elizabeth Mannion, Flora Wendt and Fiora Contino.
Lee Morgan has performed as a recitalist and guest soloist with many choral groups, including the Piedmont Chamber Singers, Carolina Baroque, the Piedmont Choral Society, the Wilkes Chamber Singers, and the Mount Desert Island (ME) Summer Chorale. She can be heard on the Carolina Baroque recordings Arias, Duets and Ballet Music from Handel Operas, Bach: Music to Challenge the Intellect and Touch the Heart and Music's Golden Age: Bach, Handel and Mozart. On stage, she has played such roles as the Mothers in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Hänsel and Gretel, and Albert Herring, and Nettie in Carousel.
Lee Morgan teaches for Morgan Vocal Studio and is an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Wake Forest University. She has conducted musicals for The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, including The Music Man, Kiss Me, Kate and Brigadoon. She is also a section leader for the Adult Choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem. |
