The American baritone, Jonathan G. Rohr, obtained his B.M. degree in Music (Voice) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. While there, he sang in June 2004 the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni in a production of Capitol Opera Raleigh at Jones Auditorium on the Meredith College campus. He obtained his M.M. degree from the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, New York in 2006. During his studies there he was active as a soloist as well as choral singer. He sang solo in several Eastman School of Music’s productions, such as Warren Martin’s The True Story of Cinderella (January 2005) and Robert Schumann's Scenes from Goethe's Faust (November 2005, Eastman Theatre). In November 2005, he also recorded Bach Cantatas with Thomas Folan and Publick Musick.
Jonathan Rohr studied later law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School in New York City, graduating in 2009 with J.D. degree summa cum laude at the top of the class, winning the Louis Brandeis Award. He was co-winner of the Felix Frankfurter Award for outstanding academic achievement, maturity, responsibility, diligence, and judgment. Since 2010 he works as a lawyer at the Sullivan & Cromwell LLP law firm in New York City, focusing on various areas of law, especially litigation. |
