The Canadian soprano, Hannah Tarder-Stoll, studied at North Toronto Collegiate Institute (Class of 2010). She sang in Toronto Children's Chorus (September 2009-May 2010). She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance in June 2014 from the University of Toronto, where she studied with Jean MacPhail. In 2015, she won first place in the national finals of the Canadian Music Competition, was awarded the Jacqueline Desmarais Scholarship.
In 2015, Hannah Tarder-Stoll performed the role of Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos with Summer Opera Lyric Theatre. Previous role credits include Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, First Spirit in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Sandman/Dew Fairy in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel.
In concert, Hannah Tarder-Stoll has performed as Josabeth in the Canadian premiere of Athalia and as the soprano soloist in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 199 with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Laurence Cummings, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Benedicite, and Crumbʼs Madrigals Book II. Her interest in the psychology of music led to an original lecture recital on Creativity and Canadian Music at the Canadian Music Centre. She has performed in concerts and master-classes with esteemed artists such as Daniel Taylor, William Bolcom, Nancy Argenta, Stuart Hamilton, and Catherine Wyn-Rogers. |
