The French mezzo-soprano, Eva Zaïcik, stuidied at Lycée Eugène Delacroix in Maisons-Alfort (Class of 2005). She began her vocal studies in the Maîtrise de Notre Dame de Paris. She then, in 2011, joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP), in the class of Elène Golgevit. Meanwhile, she had the opportunity to work with great masters such as Anne Le Bozec, Margreet Hönig, Janina Baechle, Kenneth Weiss or René Jacobs.
Eclectic artist and sensitive musician, Eva Zaïcik is interested in all forms of expression afforded by the vocal repertoire. She collaborates with numerous early music ensembles and is close to contemporary creation. Mindful of the dialogue of cultures, she was the guest of European Festival d'Aix en Provence, Avignon Festival and the Royaumont Foundation, to participate in the project «Oracion», combining Eastern and Western musicians. She creates at this occasion a work by Ahmed Essyad, composed for her and the Tana Quartet.
In 2008, Eva Zaïcik co-founded the ensemble Lunaris, with which she explores a wide repertoire from medieval to contemporary, for their unusual formation of three singers and a viola da gamba. They published their first CD in 2014.
Noticed for her rich timbre and stage presence, Eva Zaïcik has already performed several roles on operatic stages: Melibea in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims, Farnace in W.A. Mozart's Mitridate, 2nd Witch in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Diane à la houpe in Millaud's Les Adventures du Roi Pausole and with the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Paris that of Ernesto in Haydn's Il Mondo della Luna.
Eva Zaïcik was invited to sing in many festivals in France and abroad (Aix en Provence, Avignon, Oude Muziek Utrecht, Messiaen Festival ...), under the baton of conductors such as Marco Guidarini, Hervé Niquet, Raphaël Pichon, David Reiland, Leonardo García-Alarcón, Vincent Dumestre ....
In 2016, Eva Zaïcik will be Nelly in Betsy Jolas's wolrd premiere of Iliade l’Amour and Elf in Felix Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Philharmonie de Paris. She will be invited to sing the alto solo part in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater throughout Europe. She currently lives in Paris, France. |
