Camille Allérat (Soprano)

Born: Lyon, France

The French soprano, Camille Allérat, discovered music at the age of 4 through the violin, then entered the Maîtrise de l'Opéra de Lyon, where she participated in numerous productions including Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges, Puccini's La Bohème, Janacek's Brundibar. She then sang in the children's choir La Cigale de Lyon with which she performed in many countries including China. She had the opportunity to sing in Argentina or in Sweden with the Chœur National des Jeunes ACJ, and won 7 prizes with the 'Ensemble Alter Écho at the Florilège international de Tours in 2009. She trained technically with Catherine Maerten at the ENM in Villeurbanne, then joined Gilles Cachemaille's class at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève in 2014 and obtained her master's degree in Marcin Habela's class in 2019. In 2016, she received a scholarship from the Cercle Romand Richard Wagner at the prestigious Bayreuth Festival and received a special prize from the City of Genève in June 2017 for her Bachelor's recital.

Camille Allérat's passion for ensemble music leads her to collaborate with numerous professional choirs such as the Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Chœur Spirito (Director: Nicole Corti), Calliope Voix de femmes (Director: Régine Théodoresco), Chœur de Femmes Polhymnia (Director: Franck Marcon), the choirs of the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opéra de Lyon, but also with French and Swiss early music ensembles.

On stage Camille Allérat was Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel in Lyon, sang Isifile in Cavalli's Giasone in Genève, Marie-Madeleine in Antonio Caldara's Passion and played the role of Donna Anna in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni with the company Brins de Voix. In August 2018, she played the Countess in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro in Lausanne, under the direction of Leonardo García-Alarcón. She regularly performs as a soloist in oratorio works including Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, W.A. Mozart's Requiem and Mass in C, and Verdi's Requiem. She made her debut as a soloist at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2021, in the world creation The Arab Apocalypse, composed by Samir Odeh-Tamimi and directed by Pierre Audi.

Camille Allérat also participates in the creation of promising young ensembles: Les Argonautes (Director: Jonas Descotte), with whom she recorded the title role of Purcell's Dido & Aeneas (Aparté label, released in October 2022). She also co-founded the soprano trio La Néréide with Julie Roset and Ana Vieira Leite, and their first album based on Luzzaschi's madrigals will be released in the summer of 2023 on the Ricercar label.

Camille Allérat also holds a degree in philosophy and a master's degree in management.
