The Spanish soprano, Pilar Alva Martín, began in 2014 her musical training as a violinist then as a singer at Real Conservatorio Superior de Música "Victoria Eugenia" de Granada. She continued her specialization as a singer with Stephan MacLeod at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (since September 2018), where she is currently part of the Soloist Master's program since September 2021.
Already several roles in the career of Pilar Alva Martín including Amour in Gluck's Orphée et Eurydice with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, 1st Witch in Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas with the Ensemble Cantatio Genève. She also performed two Spanish Baroque operas with the Orquesta Barroca de Granada and Iliber Ensemble. The Opera La Guerra de los Gigantes by Sebastián Durón was released on a CD for the record company IBS Classical. She has performed as a soloist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne performing Elf 1 in Felix Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with the Orquesta Filarmonía Granada, George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Ensemble Fratres and L.v. Beethoven's Mass in C with the Ensemble Cantatio Genève. In October 2021, she sang with the famous tenor Rolando Villazón at the Crescendo con la Música Foundation Gala in the Rosey Concert Hall concert series. In recital she was invited by the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada in its 69th edition and at the Festival Lavaux Classic 2022. In 2021 she won 1st prize in the Lavaux Classic 2021 competition.
Pilar Alva Martín performs in concert with the ensembles Gli Angeli Genève (Director: Stephan MacLeod), Concerto Soave, Ensemble Cantatio de Gèneve, Ensemble Fratres, Capella Concertata (Director: Yves Corboz), FONICS, and Proyecto Nur. She currently lives in Lausanne, Switzerland. |
