The Orquestra Câmara do Amazonas was created in 2002, composed of musicians from the Orquestra Amazonas Filarmônica, with the goal of innovating the state's musical practice, performing works from the Baroque to the contemporary.
The Orquestra Câmara do Amazonas' history includes the complete chamber music repertoire of Claudio Santoro; Numerous national and international premieres, such as Sinfonia nº 2 – Paisagens Verdes (Harry Crowl) and Shotaskovichiana (André Mehmari), specially composed for the group; and Quatro Estações: Recompostas (Max Richter).
With a versatile and distinctive performance, the Orquestra de Câmara do Amazonas also performs crossovers with various artistic expressions and languages, including "A Night at the Opera" and "O Sol Nascente," presenting audiences with a diverse program that includes soundtracks from films such as Drácula and As Horas, as well as partnerships with regional artists and rock bands.
Annually, the Orquestra Câmara do Amazonas participates in the Festival Amazonas de Ópera, with productions of operas, ballets, and concert music.
In the Orquestra Câmara do Amazonas' 20 years of existence, the public has been able to enjoy a variety of performances, consolidating the orchestra's contemporary DNA.
