The American tenor and counter-tenor, Amu Aragon's education and primary professional identity is as a mental health professional, but his first love has always been music. His introduction to choral music came through participation in the San Francisco Boys Chorus in his formative years.
While living in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Emu Aragon regularly performed with choral ensembles including Voci Virili (Tenor), Chorus Angelorum (Tenor/Alto: August 2021-June 2022), The Chattanooga Chamber Choir (Tenor), The Chattanooga Boys Choir, Kinge’s Quire (Tenor: July 2018-June 2022), Devoto, Adelphos (Tenor: September 2016-March 2017), The Stewards (Tenor), and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Chattanooga (Section Leader/Tenor: August 2018-July 2022). Most recently, he was fortunate enough to participate in two choral residencies in the UK - Exeter and Durham Cathedrals. Currently he is Staff Singer/Section Leader at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem (since August 2022) and member of Winston-Salem Choral Artists (Director: Christopher Gilliam).
Emu Aragon obtained his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology (July 2010-May 2014) and his Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (August 2015-May 2018) from Southern Adventist University. Currently he is a 3rd-year doctoral student at University of North Carolina at Greensboro working towards a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision (since August 2022; expected graduation: May 2027) and owns a private practice focused on treating complex trauma in young adults (October 2022-March 2026). He currently lives in Greensboro, North Carolina. |
