The Bachchor der Erlöserkirche Bad Homburg, which currently has around 125 singers, has existed since 1908. It is one of the most renowned and most capable choirs in the Rhein-Main n area. The Bachchor is involved in organizing church services in the Erlöserkirchengemeinde and also gives varied and demanding concerts.
The Bachchor is particularly committed to the continuous cultivation of the choral works of J.S. Bach, which have been performed almost in their entirety. In addition, there are widely acclaimed and recognized performances of major choral works by other masters as well as important pieces from the 20th and 21st centuries. The Bachchor opens itself up to those interested in music through events such as "Bachkantate zum Mitsingen" or "Offenes Singen". The singers have already performed concert tours all over Europe. In October 2010, the Bachchor was heard in Marienbad in the Czech Republic. As on several other occasions, the Bachchor was a guest at the famous Exter Cathedral in the southwest of the UK in July 2023.
The Bachchor and its conductor Susanne Rohn are always inspired by the collaboration with members of the HR-Sinfonieorchesters Frankfurt, the young musicians of the Sinfonietta Frankfurt (Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst) under their conductor Professor Hubert Buchberger, the renowned Barockorchester L'arpa festante and soloists from all over Germany. |
