The Dutch choral conductor, Rienk Bakker, studied at the Artez Conservatorium Zwolle (2005-2009), Strasbourg Conservatoire and Artesis Hogeschool in Antwerp (2014-2016). His musical career began with studies in organ and church music, for which he obtained his Master of Music from Artez Conservatorium in 2011. His teachers were successively Harm Jansen, Theo Jellema and Christoph Mantoux (France). In addition to these main subjects, he followed the minor subjects piano and voice. He attended the Kurt Thomas Course for choral conductors three times (2018-2019) and in 2016 he completed the master's course in choral conducting "with great distinction". Since his studies he regularly sings in (semi-) professional ensembles and is currently continuing his singing studies with Réne Veen.
Rienk Bakker is currently conductor of a number of chamber choirs, project choirs and a youth choir. He has been director of Projectkoor Adveniat Musica (since 2011); Jongerenkoor Houten (since 2012); Amersfoorts Kamerkoor (since 2013); Eindhovens Kamerkoor (since 2015); Consortium Musicum Divertimento (since 2017); Vocaal Ensemble Tiramisu (since 2017). He is also cantor-organist of the Grote Kerk in Vianen (since 2012). He is also active as accompanist and repetiteur of individual singers and instrumentalists. As a teacher, he has his own teaching practice for organ, piano and choral conducting. He currently lives in Houten, the Nertherlands. |
